Happy birthday Mom!
Thanks Gura!
And Leny and others who've backchanneled best wishes to Mom.
While we were at a restaurant, there was a senior citizen couple at the next table enjoying our festivities as Mom opened her presents. When they stood up to leave, they paused by our table to also express Happy Birthday. They said they were both in their mid-80s or so. Mom replied that she just turned 81. The guy replied, "Oh my. YOu don't look a day over 72!"
I marvel now at the specificity. What does "72" look like, versus, say, "73" or "71"?
heh,
Eileen
